What 100 People + 1 Hour Can Raise For 1 Charity

100 Women Who Care Omaha: How It Works

  • We meet for 60 minutes four times a year.
  • Our members nominate and present up to 3 local charities (Douglas/Sarpy Counties) at our quarterly events.
  • At the end of each event, our members vote on which charity to award our combined donations.
  • Each member contributes $100 to the elected charity (or $50 if you are under 40)

Our idea is simple: 100 People + 1 Hour + 1 Charity = $10,000

*Total each quarter dependent on the number of contributing members we have

About 100 Women Who Care Omaha

100 Women Who Care Omaha was founded in 2014 to bring women together to support non-profit organizations in our community.

Our volunteers organize the events and our members gather to support local charities. What’s great is that our members only need to commit to donating $100 per quarter to join (or $50 per quarter if you are under 40), and 100% of that goes to local charities. We only meet four times a year and our events are fast! A great networking happy hour beforehand helps connect like-minded professionals and then the presentations are quick and to the point.

At our events, we combine our giving power and focus it on one charity. That charity gets a big stack of checks from our members and free publicity on the great things they are doing in our community.

Criteria for Charities

  • Current members gather info on a local charity, if selected at random, the member will give a 5 minute presentation. The charity must meet the following criteria:
  • Must be registered as a 501(c)(3)
  • Must provide members with a receipt for their tax deductible donation
  • Must not be affiliated with a larger national charity or office
  • Money must be used for the good of the greater Omaha area
